The music department will host its final concert for this school year on May 15 in New Town High School’s auditorium.
“I think this year’s performance is going to be much better than last year’s because the band has improved a lot …,” said Mrs. Harris, band director.
The music department, the chorus and the band, hopes to wow the audience with a performance that’s even better than last year’s.
“This year is going to be both an enjoyable and educational experience, and also a time of self discovery, key word ‘self.’ Student participants will find out things about themselves,” said Mr. Evans, chorus director. “Eclectic, the concert will be exactly this.”
“Last year’s performance was very good, so I’m excited to see what happens for this year’s performance,” says Jason Gibert, senior.
During last year’s spring concert, members of the music department gave it their all.
“We did excellent, and I can’t wait to show off our new material,” said Michael Russell, junior.
“The student participants enjoyed themselves therefore causing the audience to enjoy themselves also,” said Mr. Evans, when asked about last year’s event.
“Overall, it was excellent because of the variety of music in both the chorus and band,” said Mrs. Harris.
During that show, the choir sang popular songs like “Fireworks” by Katie Perry. The band played classics like “Got That Swing” by Charlie Watts.
Tickets for the May performance will be sold at the door, three dollars for New Town High School students and five dollars for other attendees.
